Most of us weren\u2019t the fastest kid back in gym class &#8212; I used to dread the mile run like no other, and until college, I hated running and avoided it at all costs.<\/p>\n<p>But that gym class mile run isn\u2019t what running really is. Sure, for some it\u2019s about posting crazy speedster times, but for me &#8212; and a lot of others who have discovered running as adults &#8212; running is about something else. Whether it\u2019s covering an unthinkable amount of distance, unplugging and connecting with your thoughts and with nature, or getting in the best of shape of your life, running can transform your life by teaching you that what once seemed impossible might just be within reach.<\/p>\n<p>If you have the desire, you can train yourself to run. A 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, even an ultra &#8212; these are all within your reach. Almost without exception.<\/p>\n<p>This series of posts is designed to show you how to run long and strong, even if you\u2019ve never considered yourself a runner or even an athlete.
