On Wednesday we head down to Hilton Head with Erin&#8217;s family.\u00a0 But don&#8217;t worry, I&#8217;ll keep on bloggin&#8217;!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-30841 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/curry-and-salad-photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"228\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/curry-and-salad-photo.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/curry-and-salad-photo-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/curry-and-salad-photo-500x375.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 228px) 100vw, 228px\" \/>Erin, my cousin Henry, and I made dinner last night for the whole family at the beach.\u00a0 I suppose that&#8217;s one way to get people to try vegetarian food&#8211;just make it for them!\u00a0 We quadrupled the recipe for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/sweet-potato-chickpea-curry\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sweet potato and chickpea curry with green peas<\/a>, and added some corn to make it a little more summer-y.\u00a0 Henry made some coconut rice to serve it over, and we started the meal with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/my-favorite-salad\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">arugula salad with broiled mushrooms<\/a> with a lime-dijon dressing.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal, and to my knowledge there were no emergency trips to McDonald&#8217;s afterwards.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a shot of the whole family eating dinner&#8230; hmm, they don&#8217;t look quite as happy as I thought they were.\u00a0 And whose is that abandoned plate?\u00a0 Maybe there was a covert McDonald&#8217;s run!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30849\" (one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/nutrition-training\/dewey-beach-5k\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">5K runners<\/a>), never one to turn down a little face time sizes=\"(max-width: 2272px) 100vw, 2272px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After such a healthy dinner, we all got to talking about fitness, diet, and making changes.\u00a0 I suppose it might have been the veggies talking, but lots of people seemed pretty excited about&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>The Next 30-Day Challenge<\/h3>\n<p>Yes, you read that correctly.\u00a0 Not two weeks after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/miscellaneous\/three-days-without-coffee-and-still-kickin\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">first 30-Day Challenge<\/a> ended, I&#8217;ve decided it&#8217;s time for another, if only because I can&#8217;t pass up an opportunity to get so many members of my family involved.\u00a0 But it&#8217;s not just for us!\u00a0 Just like last time, I&#8217;d love to have anyone who likes making big changes as much as I do get involved.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s how it will work.\u00a0 Leave a comment on this post or another this week with your personal 30-Day Challenge and whatever else might help others readers get to know you (bio, blog address, Facebook page, Twitter name, whatever).\u00a0 I figure if we start next Monday, everyone will have plenty of time to get ready and enjoy their proverbial Fat Tuesday.\u00a0 So next Monday I&#8217;ll write a post listing everyone&#8217;s challenge, info, and\/or links, and we&#8217;ll be off and running!\u00a0 Then we&#8217;ll check in each Monday after that to find out how everyone is doing.\u00a0 Dig it?<\/p>\n<p>I know when I commit to a change, I like to start right away, so if you can&#8217;t wait until Monday, then by all means start now!\u00a0 But I&#8217;m going to wait until then, since I&#8217;ll be on vacation and I still need to think of mine!\u00a0 I&#8217;m really getting into the Brendan Brazier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/books\/\">Thrive diet<\/a> raw food vegan stuff, but that&#8217;s not something I&#8217;m ready to dive headlong into yet.\u00a0 I would like to eat less bread products (especially white, but even whole wheat to some extent), choosing less processed grains instead.\u00a0 And I&#8217;m also thinking I need to do more stretching and foam rolling than I sporadically do now, so a weekly bikram yoga session might be in the cards for me (thanks to my cousin&#8217;s friend Katherine for this idea).\u00a0 But I&#8217;ll have plenty of clear-headed time at the beach to figure it all out this week.\u00a0 I definitely want to add something, rather than take away, this time.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t wait to hear what your challenges are; I love this stuff!\u00a0 I say, if you&#8217;re deciding between a big change and a small change, pick the big one!\u00a0 The big one is so much more motivating (like for me, trying to qualify for Boston vs. just trying to beat my previous best).\u00a0 Your day-to-day routine, varied only slightly with a small change, is so similar to your old way that it&#8217;s easy to fall back into it.\u00a0 The big change is the one that interrupts your old pattern drastically so that you follow through.<\/p>\n<p>Let the changes
