I just flew home from Portland, Oregon yesterday, after an energizing-yet-completely-exhausting weekend at <a href=\"https:\/\/chrisguillebeau.com\/3x5\/\">Chris Guillebeau&#8217;s<\/a> World Domination Summit.\u00a0 I hung out with 499 amazing people for the weekend, talking about doing awesome work and about changing (okay, dominating) the world.<\/p>\n<p>(And enjoying <em>really good<\/em> vegan food truck options everywhere I went.\u00a0 Yay, Portland!)<\/p>\n<p>While I was there, I put together a video that&#8217;s part of the lead-up to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nomeatathlete.com\/half-roadmap-info\/\">Half Marathon Roadmap<\/a>, which launches tomorrow.\u00a0 I sent the video out to people who are interested in half marathon training, but then I realized something &#8212; this video is about much more than that.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the exact psychological strategy &#8212; the headgame, if you will &#8212; that I used when I was training to qualify for Boston, which for me meant taking 100 minutes off my first marathon time.\u00a0 So if you&#8217;re trying to get yourself to Boston, you&#8217;ll like it.<\/p>\n<p>But even if not, I think it&#8217;s a great approach to any goal that seems really far off right now, or simply crazy or impossible or otherwise ridiculous.<\/p>\n<p>So that&#8217;s why I&#8217;m posting it on the blog.\u00a0 The only disclaimer is that the sound is REALLY quiet.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure how I screwed that up or how to fix it, so the best I can do is suggest that you use headphones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AR9eaRZUyrI\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Oh yeah, I almost forgot.
