You have to be vegan for the animals, not vegan for your health or the environment or any of that other baloney. That’s considered plant-based. And if you eat foods that are vegetarian call yourself a vegetarian who eats mostly plant-based.

Some sugar is (that from beetroot), but most white sugar is from sugar cane and is not. Brown sugar, raw sugar, etc, are vegan as well. I think it’s too hard to control this fact but I don’t eat much sugar in general for it to matter to me personally.
