I had commented on this post 4.5 years ago. See the comment from October 27th above. Now, almost 5 years later, I thought of giving an update. When I wrote the comment in 2012, I was trying to start a venture quietly because I did not want the pressure of public shaming. That venture did not work out and I closed it 6 months later. But, I ended up learning a lot from that failed venture and outgrew my fear. As a result, I started another company a short while later. The company , Mishmi Takin, carried out a successful crowdfunding campaign last year and now we are shipping the product to our crowdfunding backers. What I wanted to say was that for me atleast, it was the internal motivation which mattered most. I came around and made a second attempt at starting a company because I wanted to do it. External pressure would have made it harder for me not easier. I guess people differ in where they get motivation from.
