I am finally getting some answers. My iron is low, that explains why I have to stop and walk so many times. I jut got my vegan iron supplement. My question is should I step back on my training and rest to give my body a chance to get that iron back up, or do I keep running. I’ve had low iron for six years after birth now. I tried supplementing before but I don’t think it fixed it. Family doctor hasn’t even called me once to say hey your iron is low. I know because I paid the lab fee to get results in early.

Then I tried another 100 miler last week and had to quit at mile 49 (10 hrs) as I couldn’t get enough oxygen and was getting slower and slower leading to walking. Today I ordered some Iron Supplements as I thought my vegan diet was complete but I think I’m lacking iron. Thanks for the article.
